Earth is a Java program and should run on most computers. 95% of computers browsing the Internet already have Java installed. It's worth upgrading to get the latest bug fixes and speed improvements. Click the Get Java Software button above-right to go to the http://java.com site. This site will check your Java version and suggest the appropriate upgrade.

If your browser asks you to save or run the link, choose run.
You will need to grant permission so Earth can run. You may find this confusing - most applications you install automatically take permission without asking; Java applications ask before taking.
Earth requires Java 5.0 or higher to run. This is required for the latest Java 3D libraries which have better graphics card support.
See the main page (http://planOfile.com) for different versions of Earth that can be run. Some provide higher quality images while others animate through a long cloud history.
